Quote of the Month

"As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs."

Workshop Participants Photograph for Current Heart Gallery
Recently, the participants in Alan Thornton's "Lighting Portraits on Location" workshop spent a day making portraits that most will not forget for long while. The Heart Gallery project contacted Santa Fe Workshops Director Reid Callanan, asking him to incorporate a portrait session into one of the workshops this summer. Participants in the workshop were assigned to make portraits of children available for adoption from New Mexico's foster-care system. These portraits, along with others done outside the workshop, will be featured in a Heart Gallery show opening in Albuquerque on Saturday.
