If you love capturing travel photos and want to learn how to control light to create truly extraordinary images, this workshop with Sean Arbabi is designed for you. We cover the benefits of metering and adjusting exposure in a fleeting moment, understanding the quality of light, mastering flash to add detail and quality, and creating a portable studio for location work. We learn and practice techniques for taking advantage of ambient light, use fill flash to create natural results, combining artificial and natural light in tough lighting situations, and using digital technology to stretch the light in our photographs.
The goal is to give participants the ability to step into almost any situation and produce exciting, professional travel images through the use of creative lighting. In addition to lectures, discussions, and image presentations, the week includes demonstrations of using flash in a variety of ways, tips on approaching strangers and connecting with people, personal assignments, individual critiques, and daily excursions to breathtaking locations in the high desert landscape of Santa Fe.
