Digital cameras offer many advantages over their film predecessors, including instant feedback, convenient storage on large-capacity memory cards, and new components such as movie capture and panoramas. Although taking pictures digitally may be easier, processing them can be arduous and time-consuming. Fortunately, the latest versions of Adobe Camera Raw, Bridge, and Lightroom can make post-production as enjoyable as capturing the images in the first place.
We begin by exploring the intricacies of Camera Raw, Bridge, and Lightroom. Then we practice building our own workflows with these tools. By the end of the week, participants have acquired a step-by-step process for uploading, rating, keywording, processing, outputting, and archiving their photographs. The primary focus is the post-production workflow using the tools that are included with Photoshop and Lightroom, and not image editing. With Derrick’s guidance, we learn how to take the “work” out of “workflow,” transforming these tasks into a rewarding, enjoyable part of the creative process.
