July 12 - July 18, 2009

This workshop is currently full. Please call to be placed on the waiting list (505) 983-1400, ext. 11.

Would you like to develop or enhance a personal style, strengthen your original vision, and broaden the way you think about photography? This workshop helps serious amateur and professional photographers find more passion in their work by exploring the narrative, aesthetic, and emotional aspects of imagemaking, with an emphasis on simplicity and the use of natural light.

Through practical demonstrations, field trips, individual portfolio reviews, and studying the work of both historically significant and little-known photographers, we refine our views on producing work and balancing the various aspects of a busy life. In addition to darkroom technique, digital fine art, and expressive printmaking, we discuss how to develop projects and exhibitions, and the ins and outs of the publishing world. Everyone is encouraged to bring a sense of humor and a sense of purpose; wise-asses, hotdogs, and burnouts are welcome!

Instructor(s)

Other awards include the Lange-Taylor Prize from Duke University. In 2006, a DVD documentary on his work was produced by Anthropy Arts.
