Alternative Photographic Processes
Christopher James
June 21 - June 27, 2009

This workshop is filling quickly. Please call soon to register (505) 983-1400, ext. 11.

Investigate and experiment with an extensive menu of alternative photographic techniques in this hands-on workshop. Intended for creative people in all disciplines (especially those with a sense of humor!), Christopher helps participants jump-start their artistic energies or add to their artistic toolbox. Our goal is to inspire new directions, new options, and new energy for each participant’s unique vision and artistic development.

Among the processes we explore are Cyanotype, Cyanotype murals, Van Dyke, Kallitype, Argyrotype, salted paper, gum bichromate, platinum and palladium, and Ziatype, as well as process combinations and toning options. Other topics include large-format pinhole photography, digital negative separations, hand-applied liquid emulsions on alternative surfaces and paper, the Lazertran Process, and alternative cameras.

For those looking for extended instruction and additional processes, consider combining this workshop with the Advanced Alternative Processes Workshop the following week.
