This is Photo Camp for teens! Spend a fun and memorable week in Santa Fe learning the principles of black-and-white photography from an experienced instructor and a supportive staff. Participants work daily in the field, exploring New Mexico ranch life and small villages rooted in the Old West. Swimming, hiking, and sampling the local cuisine add relaxing interludes to daily darkroom sessions, critiques, demonstrations, and image presentations.
With Sharon’s guidance and encouragement, we develop our black-and-white photographic skills as we delve into cameras, film, exposure, developing film, printing, portfolios, print presentation, and personal vision. The learning continues into the evening, with presentations by some of the world’s preeminent photographers and darkroom sessions guided by Sharon and The Workshops staff. Participants gain a heightened knowledge of the photographic craft, a strong sense of direction in their personal vision, and the desire to make photography part of their everyday lives.
Sharon creates a comfortable, challenging atmosphere that fosters friendships and constant support. Whether photography is a hobby or a potential career path, this week expands your technical knowledge and extends your creative abilities.
