For more than a hundred years, the landscapes and cultures of New Mexico have inspired photographers and painters such as Ansel Adams, Eliot Porter, Laura Gilpin, Paul Strand, Georgia O’Keeffe, Marsden Hartley, and Peter Hurd. This field-oriented workshop is about creating photographs that challenge the viewer’s imagination and convey the beauty, drama, and feeling of this spirited place. This is a week to explore your creativity, expand your visual skills, and to enhance your understanding of the photographic process from capture to output. Lengthy days in the field photographing the scenic beauty of Northern New Mexico provide invigorating experiences that are reflected in your images and work. Classroom sessions include discussions of composition, light, and color, and reviews of participant images. The use of Adobe Lightroom is reviewed in depth to aid you in achieving your personal style. As Tony guides you through some of his favorite photographic treasures, from the incredible red rock formations of O’Keeffe’s Abiquiu country to the vast ranchlands, wildlife, and historic structures that are the essence of Northern New Mexico, he shares the in-depth knowledge of the land and its diverse peoples acquired during his 19 years as a professional photographer in New Mexico. Come to the Land of Enchantment and live a photographic adventure! INSTRUCTOR(S)
