Spain is an exhilarating place to make great photographs and to view great art. Our mission is to do plenty of both. We photograph in mornings and early evenings, while in the afternoons we view some of the most profound art Spain has to offer. Madrid is one of the world’s most vibrant and seductive cities. It has a charming and infectious atmosphere visitors can immediately sense. We explore the heart of Old Madrid, including the majestic Plaza Mayor, which is perfectly preserved and extremely beautiful. We walk the streets of Bourbon Madrid, with its Avenue of Art containing three of the world’s extraordinary art museums: The Prado, Thyssen, and Reina Sofia. Next, it’s on to Barcelona by high-speed train. The works of Antoní Gaudí, whose vision still feels new, exciting, and modern, distinguishes this effervescent city, a center of Modernist architecture. Park Guell, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is magical, while Gaudi may be most famous for the untamed La Sagrada Familia. We conclude our adventure 40 minutes south of Barcelona, in the charming seaside village of Sitges. Nestled against the blue waters of the Medditeranean, Sitges is a truly gorgeous place to photograph, relax, and enjoy good food. Travel with John Weiss on this inspirational journey through the arts and natural beauty of Spain. While the emphasis will be on photography, this is also an art-viewing journey, which we believe will enhance your ability to photograph the spirit of Spain.
