"Brenda obviously enjoys what she does and it shows in her enthusiasm and willingness to work hard for her students." Bob Day, former workshop participant Light, composition, color, design, gesture, and moment—these are the elements that make photographs visually powerful and emotionally memorable. The measure of a great photograph is the power it has to evoke a response from the viewer. In this workshop, we strive to create visually striking images that provoke emotional responses. Late March is a perfect time to explore historic Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico with our cameras. The days are warmed with golden light as the winter season draws to a close and we move about with ease since the tourist season hasn’t begun. During our four days together we photograph a variety of incredible locations, giving us opportunities to develop and practice newly acquired interpretive skills. Through a range of visual exercises, participants are challenged to revise their thinking and to experiment with techniques designed to create more interpretive and original artistic images. Daily assignments put classroom techniques into practice, and take advantage of the stunning light and color of the Santa Fe area. Brenda leads daily group critiques and spends time with participants individually, reviewing their personal portfolios and discussing their aspirations. In addition, classroom discussions address developing creative vision as well the technical aspects of color photography. Pictures are created, not taken, and they are created with heart, soul and camera. Join Brenda for an intense, inspirational workshop in Santa Fe and explore your creative side. INSTRUCTOR(S)
