Magic happens when imagination meets technique and process. This workshop is for photographers of all levels who love the beauty and freedom of alternative processes, alternative cameras and creative expression. Our motto for our four days together is: Whatever we conceive, we can achieve. 

We begin with an exploration of a variety of works from global artists and dig into our own personal history and aesthetics in order to learn how to create expressive personal images. Presentations showcasing modern digital photographic mastery and classic wet processes—including platinum, lith, tintype, bromoil, daguerreotype, collodion, and montage—serve as inspiration for our digital experiments and final prints.

Drawing from thirty years of exploration and assignments, David demonstrates how to interpret our unlimited imagination using conceptual exercises, powerfully creative tools and custom settings within Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as his favorite plug-ins. While photographing on location and working magic in The Workshops state-of-the-art digital lab, each participant is encouraged and guided to expand their skills and vision.
