Focusing on the essential features of Adobe Photoshop, this fast-paced workshop demonstrates how this powerful program can be used to satisfy the basic requirements of a photographer. During the workshop, Dottie guides participants through the digital workflow process, from concept to completion. Starting with Photoshop’s Bridge utility, participants explore all the important features it offers, from organizing and managing images, to applying keywords and copyright information. Next, participants process images in Photoshop’s Camera Raw Converter, and examine the pros and cons of working with RAW and JPEG file formats. Dottie covers the best techniques and shortcuts for image enhancing, retouching, color adjusting, black & white conversion, sharpening, and working with selections. After reviewing and practicing the basics, we dive into a detailed overview of layers, and the infinite possibilities they offer to the photographer. Dottie also shares her knowledge of the best practices for archiving and image presentation. Combining hands-on demonstrations with step-by-step instruction, Dottie provides participants with practical photographic applications for working with Photoshop. Using sample and personal photographs, participants practice processing images from capture to final output. Participants come away from the workshop with Photoshop skills that enable them to independently process and optimize their imagery and photographic vision. INSTRUCTOR(S)
