Burma: A Photographic and Cultural Journey
with
November 14 - November 24, 2011

This workshop has already begun or is a past workshop.

Burma is one of those few remaining, magical places that feels overlooked by the modern world. The country is steeped in an amazingly rich history, and graced with a vibrant, living religion that permeates every aspect of daily life. This workshop offers 10 full days in-country, with visits to nearly all of Burma’s most iconic settings: the solid-gold encrusted spires of the Schwedagon Pagoda complex, the temple-studded plains of Pagan, magnificent Mandalay and the sublime beauty of Inle Lake. This tour is scheduled to coincide with the annual Shwezigon Pagoda Festival in Pagan (also known as Bagan).

The Burmese people are amongst the friendliest and open in all of Southeast Asia. Visually, the country is a photographer’s paradise, with superb opportunities for shooting fantastically ornate religious architecture, lush and varied landscapes, and environmental portraits.

This workshop with David Samuel Robbins is for photographers interested in developing a more distinctive, personal style of imagery within the “travel photography” genre. The schedule includes field demonstrations and individual, one-on-one review of your work in progress.

Group size limited to 12.
