P, Tv, M, Av, ISO … perhaps you’ve seen these symbols on your camera but don’t know what they mean or how to use them. A common response is simply to put the camera on Auto, but too often the resulting photograph is not what you had envisioned. At times it seems the camera is in control of you, rather than the other way around. This workshop is designed to clear up confusion and open the door to mastering the technical features of your camera and exploring the creative aspects of photography. We begin by tackling all those buttons and menus, learning what settings mean, which ones are frequently used, and which only need to be set once. We discuss the elements of manual exposure, including depth of field, shutter speed, and ISO. As we gain control of these principles, we explore creative ways to use them. Mornings are devoted to lectures and critiques. In the afternoons, we practice our new camera skills exploring Santa Fe with Jennifer on hand to provide one-on-one guidance. At the end of this exciting and inspiring workshop, participants leave in control of their cameras and have produced images that illustrate increased confidence and creative vision. INSTRUCTOR(S)
