Enter the magical world of digital photography. Over five intense, information-filled days, you learn about the basic settings for your DSLR camera, and then advance to working in manual mode. Most importantly, you acquire a familiarity with the dials, buttons, functions, and shooting modes of your camera by actually using them in guided photo sessions. In daily lectures, discussions and critiques, you are introduced to the rules of composition, the importance of light, and an understanding of color theory. In addition, we discuss the lens choices and camera accessories that can enhance your image-making skills. In the afternoons, you gain hands-on experience as you photograph in various locations in and around Santa Fe. By accompanying participants on all location shoots, Dottie is available to provide guidance, offer suggestions, and answer questions as needed. By the end of this course, you have a solid grasp of your camera’s operations and capabilities, and feel at ease working with your newly acquired skills and your DSLR cameras. You return home with dynamic images reflective of your photographic journey in Santa Fe. INSTRUCTOR(S)
