Stock photography is in the midst of a revolution, and new opportunities are available to the photographer whose ambition is to make and sell stock images. This workshop provides you with the tools and information to be successful in this rapidly evolving market. Patrick shares with you what type of imagery sells and why, as well as how to quickly identify and effectively photograph subjects that are often in high demand. Personal vision, creative risk-taking, and a conceptual approach to image making is essential for success in stock photography and therefore these are stressed throughout the week. The workshop begins with individual portfolio reviews, followed by a series of presentations and demonstrations. Best selling imagery, editing, portfolio building, and selecting the appropriate distribution channels are examined in depth. Special emphasis is placed on royalty-free and microstock opportunities. We then shift to our stock imagery assignments. While on assignment, you apply your creative skills to subject matter that consistently appeals to global markets. Your week is filled with inspiration, exploration, and innovation, as you acquire new creative and business skills that enable you to turn your passion into profits. INSTRUCTOR(S)
