Discover exciting ways to combine new technology with old-school creativity. In this hands-on workshop we learn to create, fine-tune, and print digital negatives on the HP printers in the digital lab. We then explore the application of two alternative processes: Ziatype and Cyanotype. Exploring the range of creative possibilities of both processes, we learn how to choose images best suited to the distinctive look of each. This workshop is designed to give photographers new outlets for their imagery and vision. Participants utilize images they bring with them as well as new images made on location in Santa Fe, whether they are straightforward photographs or composites created in Adobe Photoshop. Each printing session with Ziatype and Cyanotype results in unique pieces of photographic art. Come prepared to play, experiment, and explore these fascinating alternative processes. INSTRUCTOR(S)
