Color management continues to confuse and elude even the savviest digital photographer. This two-and-a-half day crash course in color management provides the information and techniques necessary to color manage your capture and output devices while minimizing color geek digressions. The mysteries of color spaces, application setup, and effective workflows are clarified to help you reach the elusive goal of screen to print matching. We examine how to create and edit Adobe DNG profiles to render raw data more effectively and dive into the world of CMYK color conversions, a process many photographers face with justifiable trepidation. You learn how to test and qualify your in-house printers, as well as prints from outside service providers. Prior to the workshop, you are encouraged to print targets from your own printers, and bring them with you to build your own high quality output profiles. During the workshop, participants have access to a cornucopia of both high end and affordable color management hardware and software. If you have ever wondered why your display or your output do not match the photographs you capture, this workshop will pave the way to predictable and consistent color, from capture to print.
