Developing a long-term photographic project can be stimulating, challenging, and sometimes isolating and overwhelming. In this workshop, four intense days of editing and conversation inspire photographers to continue their work and move their projects forward to completion. Beginning with a presentation of your work in progress, we continue with constructive conversation and focused editing designed to refine and sharpen the vision and purpose of your project. In extended individual sessions with Sam and Leah you look candidly at your project’s history, status, and future direction. In addition to the editing and consultation phases of the workshop, emphasis is given to results and outcomes. We look at projects that matured into distinguished books, exhibits, and web displays, and discuss possibilities and appropriate direction for each participant’s ongoing work. The nature of long-term projects is that they are often done in isolation. Our aim is to end that isolation. During our intensive time of sustained work and rich conversation, we rekindle the high purpose of each photographer’s project. Participants leave recommitted to their work, and with a blueprint for continued progress. INSTRUCTOR(S)
