Travel Photography: Assignment San Miguel de Allende
with Bob Sacha
November 2 - November 7, 2014

This workshop has already begun or is a past workshop.

“Bob Sacha was one of the BEST Instructors I have had. He was very organized and focused, and he helped us a lot.” Joanna B. Pinneo, past Bob Sacha workshop participant.

In this captivating week-long immersion, you learn how to enhance the quality of your travel images and create a compelling story of a place. Our setting, San Miguel de Allende, is a Unesco World Heritage Site filled with grand Spanish Colonial architecture, gracious inhabitants, and a long history of embracing artists and travelers. A walkable city filled with eclectic shops and restaurants, it possesses a personality that's somewhat European, with a cozy atmosphere and a tradition of strolling the streets on warm evenings.

During our week in San Miguel, you work on your own travel story, focusing on a theme that interests you. Whether it's a series of streets portraits, an exploration of local cuisine, a study of architecture, or a comparison of gardens, working with experienced National Geographic photographer Bob Sacha elevates your images far beyond the usual vacation snapshot.

While participants hone their skills through daily critiques, mini assignments, and excursions, Bob shares tips and techniques for getting great travel pictures, including engaging our subjects, choosing appropriate lenses for various situations, determining the best times of day to work—in short, the essential elements that translate into a strong visual narrative. Join Bob, and discover how to create travel photographs that convey not just what you see but what you experience and feel.

$2,895 includes double accommodations for 6 nights (single supplement available for an additional $480), breakfast Monday through Saturday, lunch Monday through Friday, dinner Sunday & Friday, and applicable model/location/materials fees.   General Information for Workshops in San Miguel
