Whether you are documenting your own artwork or the work of others, how well your photographic imagery conveys the artistic vision can mean the difference between success and frustration. Join Eric as he guides you through the ins and outs of photographing artwork for personal reference, web sites, collectors, or submission to shows and competitions.
This two-and-a-half day intensive covers the basics skills you need to get the results you desire, with simplicity and with a focus on affordability. We cover the requirements for photographing 2D art (paintings, drawings), 3D art (sculpture, pottery, etc.), and reflective subjects (jewelry, reflective sculpture, metallics in paintings, glass, and more).
Eric takes us step-by-step through a methodical workflow sequence that begins with navigating the camera and choosing the right lens. Then we move on to lighting, digital image prepping, and photo file delivery. Throughout, Eric emphasizes the importance of consistency—both for continuity in your presentation and to help you keep your sanity.
You leave with a plan as well as the skill set to document your own artwork—or the work of others—consistently, successfully, and painlessly.
