Join Bill Ellzey, and the outfitter-guides of Salvaje Corizon, on an Andean photo workshop/safari in the intriguing landscapes of two distinctly different regions of Chilean Patagonia. It’s like two trips in one! Part 1 is in the heart of the Aisen region, home of the mysterious and alluring Mable Caves, the deep turquoise Baker River, and the expansive Lago (Lake) General Carrera. Lago General Carrera is ringed by the high, perennially snow-covered and glacier-strewn mountains that come to mind when you hear “The Andes.” Part 2 takes us even further south, into the Torres del Paine National Park. The spectacular jutting towers are icons of Patagonia. However, on the opposite side of the same massif the Cuernos del Paine claw the sky above glacial run-off lakes. These visual elements are the building materials of truly world-class compositions. April is autumn in the southern hemisphere so the landscape is rich in color. Wildlife includes condors, crested caracara, black-chested buzzard-eagle and charming, llama-like guanacos. As landscape photographers, our daily schedule is dictated by light. We shoot first light and last and a good bit in between. Meal times come second, photographs first. We eat very well, though. Oh, and the Pisco Sours, woo-hoo, watch out. Once on the ground you can stow your wallet. Everything except personal expenses is included in the cost of the package.
Land cost in Patagonia. Group size is limited to 8.
