The evolution of an idea is just the beginning of a personal project. From there, you need passion, inspiration, hard work, and help from others to bring it to completion. Spend four days with Bob learning how to refine your project and take it to the next level—be it editing, sequencing, securing funding sources, defining your audience, or deciding what the ultimate form the project will take (book, exhibition, or public presentation). Bob shares with participants what he has learned in his own experience completing a long-term personal project. You present your images to the group and receive in-depth reviews of your project that help you to define the work and move it forward towards completion. Approaching publishers, creating book and exhibition proposals, defining your mission statement, and attending portfolio reviews are all essential elements, and you are given means and resources to generate a completed project using these tools and methods. We also discuss the roles that the Internet and social media can play as vehicles for promoting your project. Most important, we explore how to realize your projects' potential and not be stopped in the face of “no.” With guidance and inspiration from Bob and other dedicated photographers, you firmly establish yourself on the path of fulfilling your dreams for your personal project.
