What makes your photographs distinctly yours? How do you express ideas, emotions, and artistry through your photography? How do you bring greater depth and soul to your images? Whether your interest is in portraiture, landscapes, or street photography—and whether you are working professionally or simply for your own personal enjoyment—knowledge of the effective use of composition, lighting, perspective, and exposure can help you produce more compelling photographs. Over the course of four practical yet inspirational days, author and photographer Rose Eichenbaum guides you toward a more creative approach to image making. With her assistance and encouragement, we explore techniques and strategies she learned from fifteen years of conversational interviews with some of the world’s greatest choreographers, dancers, actors, directors, and artists. By taking on challenging assignments—and engaging in group discussions, visual presentations and exercises, photo critiques, and one-on-one mentoring sessions—you develop the knowledge and insight that allows you to hone your photographic eye and inherent style. You emerge with greater confidence in your ability to express yourself through the photographic medium. COLLEGE CREDIT AVAILABLE (Course Level 300): For an additional fee, participants may elect to receive one hour of college credit through Hastings College upon successful completion of this workshop.
