Photographers often have several bodies of work, multiple series, and dozens of images—all completed, all on hand. But what does it take to get them ready to show? Whether you've been creating a series of fine art photographs or a documentary project, this two-day intensive offers you the tools you need to present that work beautifully and effectively. Laura offers participants targeted, professional coaching, working with each individual’s portfolio to elevate the pieces and realize the best possible presentation. She demonstrates different techniques for engaging viewers, such as sequencing, storytelling, and constructing compelling narrative arcs. We discuss the role of artist statements in professional practice, and Laura presents successful approaches for describing your work. You receive guidance on editing, presenting, and preparing your portfolio. Together we refine the series in the final stages to help it stand out. Our time together concludes with specific, supportive critiques of your projects. You leave with a sophisticated and refined set of images ready to be shown to galleries, magazines, book publishers, and collectors—or simply to keep for yourself to show family and friends—knowing that it has reached its maximum potential. Tuition for this Intensive includes two lunches. INSTRUCTOR(S)
