Intensive: From Mirrorless to IOS
with Dan Burkholder
May 1 - May 3, 2013

This workshop has already begun or is a past workshop.

Imagine traveling without heavy D-SLR cameras, clunky laptops, wires, card readers, expensive software, and devices with short battery life. While we may love taking photographs with the iPhone, sometimes we long to use lenses or to have low-light capabilities that our smartphones just can’t handle.

In this two-and-a-half day workshop Dan reveals how you can have the best of both worlds. Using a modern mirrorless—not to mention easy on the shoulder—camera in conjunction with an iPad or iPhone, you’re ready to edit, enhance, and stylize your images immediately after capture. No pain, all gain!

Focusing on working with mirrorless cameras, we dive into a workflow that prepares you for an easy and exciting new way to enjoy your travel photography. Santa Fe is a locale as colorful and culturally rich as can be found anywhere, and its breathtaking high desert environs provide you with an ideal backdrop for discovering new ways to express your creativity.

Embrace the future of image capture and post-processing in a beautiful, energetic, and educational setting. This workshop is too much fun to miss!

What to Bring: One of the new breed of mirrorless cameras from Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung or Ricoh will fit the bill. Lens choices are up to you, though a wide-angle lens will be great for photographing in close quarters, something we will most likely find ourselves doing. It is important that your camera has either built-in WiFi or be compatible with an Eye-Fi card. You can check Eye-Fi compatibility for cameras at support.eye.fi/cameras/

As part of our goal is to combine mirrorless capture with iPhone or iPad editing and stylizing, you'll also want have either an iPhone or iPad (iPad 2 or later). As the workshop start date approaches, you will receive a comprehensive list of photo apps to have loaded on your iPhone or iPad.
