Step into the magical world of digital photography and Adobe Lightroom. In a learning-filled five-day period, Dottie guides you through the basics, from setting up your digital SLR camera to working with it in manual mode. You gain a working understanding of the dials, buttons, functions, and shooting modes associated with your camera while also reviewing and working with digital imaging capture, workflow, and printing. Dottie also provides hands-on guidance as we work with Lightroom, a powerful all-in-one file management and image-editing program. Through the use of daily critiques and discussion, you are introduced to the rules of composition, the importance of light, and general color theory. We also discuss ways of enhancing our shooting capabilities with lens and camera accessories. In the afternoons, we get hands-on experience taking photographs in various locations unique to picturesque Santa Fe, with Dottie making herself available to provide guidance, suggestions, and answers to your questions. By the end of the workshop, you have newly acquired picture-making skills, along with a solid grasp of digital photography technology and sense of being at ease working with your digital SLR camera. Be prepared to return home ready to show off the dynamic images you created during your photographic education in Santa Fe! INSTRUCTOR(S)
