Photographers often speak of being “in the moment” when photographing or, as Henri Cartier-Bresson so eloquently wrote, “It is putting one's head, one's eye, and one's heart on the same axis.” Yet as more automatic functions on cameras have replaced the skills once necessary to capture decisive moments as they happen, photographers are coming to rely on a “fix it later” mentality, relegating essential compositional, exposure, and lighting skills to camera and computer software. Under Norman's guidance, you learn how to take photographs of people, events, places, and things, with emotional content supported by elegant design, in real time and with a minimum of post-production techniques. Give yourself the classic gift of learning how to spend more time behind a camera and less time in front of a computer. COLLEGE CREDIT AVAILABLE (Course Level 300): For an additional fee, participants may elect to receive one hour of college credit through Hastings College upon successful completion of this workshop. Those interested in earning credit should inquire with Santa Fe Photographic Workshops at the time of registration, 505-983-1400, Ext. 11. INSTRUCTOR(S)
