Nevada Wier is an award-winning photographer specializing in the remote corners of the globe and the cultures that inhabit them. Her journeys have take her to Southeast Asia, India, China, Nepal, Africa, New Zealand, Central Asia, Mongolia, South America, and other regions of the world. Her images have appeared in numerous national and international publications, including National Geographic Adventure, Geo, Islands, National Geographic, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, and Smithsonian. Nevada’s work is represented by Getty, Corbis, and Blend. She is a Fellow of The Explorer’s Club and a member of the Women’s Geographic Society.
Nevada was the photographer for The Land of Nine Dragons: Vietnam Today (Abbeville Press), winner of the Lowell Thomas award for “Best Travel Book of 1992.” She was the author and photographer of Adventure Travel Photography and a participating photographer in A Day in the Life of Thailand, Planet Vegas, and Mother Earth. Her work has been featured in National Geographic Explorer, Through the Lens, Canon Photo Safaris, and in a Northwest Airlines international television and print ad campaign. Her current book-in-progress, A Nomadic Vision, is forthcoming in 2010.
