Mentor: David Middleton
David Middleton is a professional outdoor photographer, writer, and teacher. During a career spanning more than two decades, he has traveled throughout North and South America leading tours and workshops for major photo travel companies. His photography and writing have been featured in many magazines, books, and calendars. David is a contributing editor of Outdoor Photographer and a Nikon “Legend behind the Lens.” His books include Ancient Forests, three Photographer's Guide statesite guides, The Nature of America, and, most recently, The Nature of Vermont. A new book, about a Vermont dairy farm, is forthcoming in September 2009.
David has led 150 photography tours and more than 200 workshops. A gifted and enthusiastic teacher, he works with photographers of all levels and is adept at customizing his teaching to each student's needs. Many of his former students are now working professionals, and more than a dozen books have been produced under his mentoring. David has taught for the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops for five years.
