Sean Kernan

Sean Kernan is a well-known photographer, writer and pioneering teacher who focuses on creativity in photography. He came to photography from theater, and is the author of two monographs, The Secret Books (with Jorge Luis Borges) and Among Trees, as well as Darrell Petit In Stone. He has taught and lectured at Parsons School of Design, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Maine Media Workshops, and Yale Medical School.

Sean has exhibited internationally and won numerous awards, most recently the Center’s Teacher of the Year, as well as an honorary doctorate from Art Center College of Design, and his writing and photography has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Communication Arts, Graphis, New York, and many others.
