Nelson Ramírez de Arellano Conde was born in Berlin, Germany and moved to Havana when he was 3 years old. He is currently Director of Fototeca de Cuba, the country’s premier photographic center based in Havana. Nelson collaborates with his wife Liudmila Velasco on conceptual photographic projects including Absolut Revolution 2002-2004, Hotel Habana, Las Puertas, Silencios, and Las Flores. Their photography has been exhibited and published around the world. Nelson brings his extensive knowledge of photography and his love of Cuba to this cultural exchange.
