Leah Bendavid-Val is a writer and curator of photography, and former Director of Photography Publishing for National Geographic Books. She has organized photography exhibitions for the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Art, Moscow. She is the author of Song Without Words: the Photographs and Diaries of Countess Sophia Tolstoy, published in 2007. Leah has collaborated with Sam Abell on five books, including co-authoring Sam Abell: the Photographic Life. She is currently a Senior Scholar at the Wilson International Center for Scholars. This is Leah’s 14th year teaching at the Workshops.
