Jason Langer is perhaps best known for his psychological and noirish visions of contemporary urban life. His work has been featured in numerous international photographic exhibitions and select publications, including American Photo, Black & White, Life, Photo District News, Popular Photography, Time, and Vanity Fair. Jason has published two monographs, Secret City and Possession, which, according to Bomb Magazine, depict urban life with “carefully crafted compositions reminiscent of the symbolist photographers, and swathes of meticulously printed deep black tones … as much Hopper and Raymond Chandler as Steichen.” A 20-year retrospective of his photography is being published in 2014. This is Jason’s second year teaching for the workshops. His website is www.jasonlanger.com.
