Doug Beasley explores the spiritual aspects of people and places, and how the sacred is recognized and expressed in everyday life. He hopes that his photographs act as prayer-like offerings meant as a departure point for the viewer’s own visual or spiritual journey. Much of his personal work, including “Sacred Sites of the Lakota,” “Disappearing Green Space,” “Sacred Places,” and “Earth Meets Spirit,” is supported by grants and commissions.
Doug has exhibited internationally and his work is featured in numerous magazines. His second book, Earth Meets Spirit was recently published, and he is the creator of Vision Quest Photo Assignment Cards. His extensive teaching experience always emphasizes heart, soul and vision over the mechanics of camera use. This is Doug’s tenth year teaching at The Workshops. His Web site address is www.douglasbeasley.com.
