Debbie Fleming Caffery
Debbie Fleming Caffery has won numerous awards and honors, among them a Guggenheim Fellowship to complete a project on brothels in Mexico and the George Soros Foundation's Katrina Media Fellowship, for which she created “Portrait of Neglect: Injustices of Hurricane Katrina.” She documented the Louisiana sugar cane harvest years in the book Carry Me Home, produced in conjunction with a one-person show at the National Museum of American History, in Washington, D.C. Her work can be found internationally at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
