Bill Ellzey picked up his first camera in 1965, at age 20, little knowing that photography would become his profession. Since then camera work has taken him around the world completing assignments and teaching photographers, professional and amateur, the art and techniques of the medium. His work from Asia, Africa, India and the American West has been published here and abroad and his stock photography is represented by National Geographic Image Collection.
Bill was director of Western Photo Workshops in Telluride, Colorado for 11 years, and he continues to teach in the United States and abroad. From the most basic nuts-and-bolts of f-stops and shutter speeds, to examining what makes for strong compositions and truly meaningful images, Bill’s down-home style and experience, both as photographer and instructor, make him a highly valued workshop leader. This is Bill’s second year teaching for The Workshops. His web site is www.billellzey.com.
