Our home is La Posada de la Aldea, a charming hotel complex in the heart of San Miguel de Allende. Located just blocks from el Jardín, the central plaza, la Aldea offers comfortable hotel rooms, a restaurant and bar, classrooms, and administration offices. Its extensive grounds, featuring beautiful gardens, fountains, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and secluded courtyards, provide a stimulating, private, and serene backdrop for photographing and enjoying the creative workshop process. The staff at la Aldea offers excellent customer service and attention to detail.
La Posada de la Aldea offers accommodations for workshop participants. The package price includes a double occupancy room for six nights, Sunday evening through Friday evening**; a single supplement is available for an additional fee; see course description for details. The rooms are spacious, with private baths with showers (no tubs), daily housekeeping service, phones, and televisions. Wireless internet service is available on the hotel property, however service can be spotty at times.
** Note: accommodations for the Day of the Dead workshop will be Wednesday through Tuesday nights.

Our meals together in Mexico foster the important group sharing and networking experience; they also provide convenience and a variety of great foods. We begin with a Sunday evening welcome dinner on campus at la Aldea’s restaurant, followed by an orientation session. An American breakfast at the hotel's restaurant is included, Monday through Saturday. Lunches are served buffet style on campus Monday through Friday. At the end of the week we celebrate the week and its achievements with the popular “Week in Review” and individual workshop image shows, followed by a dinner in town. ** Beverage service and snacks are available daily on campus. We will do our best to accommodate vegetarians and participants with special dietary needs. Please indicate these requests when registering.
** Note: meals for the Day of the Dead workshop include breakfast Thursday through Tuesday, lunches Thursday through Monday, and dinner Wednesday and Monday.
Digital SLRs and laptops are required for all workshops in San Miguel. You are expected to have working knowledge of downloading images from your camera to the laptop, organizing files using your image viewing software, and selecting images for critique. Our week in San Miguel follows a well-organized structure, with enough flexibility to enjoy the varied pleasures of daily life in Mexico. While each workshop schedule has been designed by the instructor, there is a general weekly calendar of events. Please note that your day may begin before sunrise and end late in the evening.
Our workshops in Mexico are priced to include most expenses once you reach San Miguel de Allende. The package price for each workshop includes tuition; model/location/materials fees if applicable; double occupancy hotel accommodations for six nights, Sunday through Friday nights (a single supplement is available; see course description), and most meals**. Not included in the package price are travel expenses to San Miguel de Allende, a few dinners, alcoholic beverages, and personal expenses including laundry, gratuities, phone calls, sundries, and gifts.

Since enrollment is limited, we encourage you to apply early. However, please do not make travel plans before registering or being told a workshop is a “go.” Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
- $600 deposit is required at the time of registration
- Balance is due 45 days prior to the start of the workshop
You can register over the phone by calling (505) 983-1400 ext. 111 with your American Express, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover Card number, or by mail with a check, money order, or your credit card number. We cannot hold space in a workshop without a deposit. Once your deposit has been received, and portfolio approved where required, you will receive an email confirmation. Additional information, including an invoice will be emailed once the minimum number of participants is reached. Final payment of your balance may be made by check, credit card, or money order, payable in U.S. funds.
The Workshops offers discounts for participants who take more than one workshop. A discount of $100 is offered for each additional workshop in San Miguel de Allende.

CANCELLATION AND TRANSFER POLICIES
We rely on your attendance to make important arrangements, so if for any reason you need to withdraw, please notify us at least 60 days before the start of your workshop. At that time we will refund your deposit, less a $250 cancellation fee. If notification of cancellation is made between 45 and 60 days before the start of the workshop, we must retain the $600 deposit. If notification of cancellation is made less than 45 days before the start of the workshop there will be no refund. The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops reserves the right to cancel a reservation if full payment has not been received by 45 days before the start of the workshop. Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is not responsible for cancellations due to medical emergencies. We highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance. In the event that a workshop must be canceled due to inadequate enrollment, all fees and deposits are refunded in full or may be transferred to another workshop within 12 months. Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is not responsible for reimbursement of non-refundable airline tickets in the event of a workshop cancellation. Please check on your workshop status before making travel arrangements.
If for any reason you wish to transfer to a different workshop, please notify us at least 60 days before the start of your workshop. You may only make one transfer at a charge of $30. We reserve the right to allow or disallow any transfer. You must register and complete a new workshop within 12 months of the withdrawal. There are no exceptions to our Cancellation and Transfer Policy.

It is very important to confirm your workshop status before making travel arrangements. Travel to and from Mexico is straightforward. You need a valid passport and an airline ticket—the rest is easy. There are daily, direct flights into the international airports at León, Guanajuato (BJX) and Queretaro (QRO) from Dallas (American Airlines), and Houston (United Airlines). Both airports are about 1.5 hours away. You can also consider flying into Mexico City (approximately 3.5 hours away). Other airlines to consider are Delta, Aeromex, and Mexicana. Check-in for your workshop is from 5-6pm on Sunday (5-6pm on Wednesday for Day of the Dead workshop), so plan your travel and arrival into San Miguel de Allende appropriately. We recommend that you book your airport shuttle to San Miguel de Allende with BajioGo Shuttle (www.bajiogo.com). You do not need to rent a car. San Miguel is a city that is best experienced on foot. We recommend flights that leave midday on Saturday.
