Ernst Haas Portfolio
Ernst Haas has been called “the father of color photography” and for good reason. In the 1950’s Ernst began working with Kodachrome films to create color compositions and a color palette that served to define fine-art color photography. Ernst died in 1986 leaving a legacy of poetic images to inspire future generations of photographers.

In 1981, Daniel Wolf Press published Ernst’s first portfolio called “The Creation.” Eleanor Morris Caponigro of Santa Fe designed the project. All prints were made using the dye-transfer process, an extremely permanent and beautiful printing technique. Ten images were included and three hundred portfolios were made. Today, a few of the portfolios remain in the vault. The portfolio usually sells for up to $15,000.

Through a special arrangement with the Haas estate, a special discounted price of $9,500 is offered to friends of Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. A limited number of single prints are also available. If you are interested in viewing the portfolio or for more information please contact Reid Callanan at (505) 983-1400 ext. 15.
