with Linde Waidhofer and Lito Tejada-Flores October 29-November 1, 2006 Whether vivid or subtle, color is the heart and soul of a color photograph. Linde believes that color is personal and passionate, an aesthetic and emotional language that can be learned, mastered, and above all, shared. Our week in San Miguel promises to be particularly colorful, with the entire city adorned with flowers, colored paper, and folk art for the ongoing Day of the Dead festivities. This is “Cultural Color” with a capital C. This is an all digital capture workshop—geared to amateur and professionals who want to develop a greater facility for working in color. View the full course description, instructor biography, and package price. Zen and the Art of Photography with Doug Beasley November 5-11, 2006 Revitalize your photography while exploring the spirit of the people and land of San Miguel de Allende and it’s surrounding villages. Doug helps participants deepen their visual awareness while simplifying and clarifying their approach through daily field trips and visual exercises concerned with both internal and external exploration. This workshop provides a rare opportunity to rethink our expectations of what it means to “see.” We also increase our awareness of available and natural light and it’s most effective use. C-41 black-and-white film is processed overnight with 4x6 proof prints for feedback, reflection, and critique. Digital work is edited and critiqued by projection in the classroom. View the full course description, instructor biography, and package price. Other instructors leading workshops in San Miguel del Allende this October and November are Nevada Wier, Mona Kuhn, Eddie Soloway, Paul Elledge & Leasha Overturf, Tony O'Brien, Ralph Lee Hopkins, Arthur Meyerson, and John Weiss. For the past ten years he has created all his black-and-white images from color files, either scanned or captured digitally. His Web site address is www.eliotcohen.com.
