There are certain cities in the world where the magic of place runs deeper, where the light is richer, where life feels more vibrant. Santa Fe, San Miguel de Allende, and Havana are three such places. Our Fall 2013 workshops and programs offer you unique opportunities to experience these intriguing places. Review all your options in our new catalog, available as a downloadable PDF from our web site.

We started running workshops in San Miguel in 2000, and for 10 years participants were wowed, charmed, and infatuated with all this UNESCO-recognized World Heritage of Humanity site has to offer photographers.

Over the last several years we have been keeping a close eye on travel advisories for Mexico. If you are at all concerned about safety in Mexico please be aware that the U.S. State Department has no travel advisory for San Miguel de Allende nor the states of Guanajuato and Queretaro. We feel totally safe in San Miguel, as will you, and we hope you will join us. For further information on travel to Mexico visit the Journey Mexico site.

On our scouting trip this past spring we fell in love with San Miguel all over again and have decided to offer nine workshops between October 13 and November 2. The New York Times recently ran a 36 Hours in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico article; we, of course recommend a week-long workshop with Joe McNally, Arthur Meyerson, Todd H. Williams, Greg Gorman, Amy Toensing, Holly Wilmeth, Jennifer Spelman, Jock Sturges, or Sarah Meghan Lee!

»Just Announced! Cuba Cultural Exchanges

We are excited to report that our license from the U.S. Treasury Department to offer people-to-people educational exchanges in Cuba was recently renewed and we are now announcing our upcoming programs. Developed to offer you opportunities to create shared exchanges that foster interaction and understanding, our programs focus on celebrating our similarities, while looking at what our societies can learn from each other.

Cuba provides not just another travel experience, but an opportunity to become richer in thought and spirit. We have 7 programs on the schedule right now, running between November 5, 2013 and January 18, 2014. With your camera as your passport, join us in discovering Cuba before this beguiling country changes forever.

With all Santa Fe has to offer photographers we do occasionally head down off the mountain. This fall the East Coast beckons, with three workshops that encourage you to give your senses free rein on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay or in the photographer’s playground that is New England.

The Power of Place: Chesapeake’s Eastern Bay
with Kip Brundage
September 22-26

Fall Colors of Vermont
with David Middleton
October 9-13

Autumn on the Coast of Maine
with David Middleton and Brenda Berry

We’ve covered the details so you can focus on exploring the culture, people, wildlife and landscapes of these remarkable places.
