with Christopher James June 25-July1 Participants in this dynamic, hands-on, group learning experience investigate and experiment with an extensive menu of alternative, nonsilver, and post-print photographic techniques. Christopher James is an internationally known artist and photographer whose paintings and alternative process images have been exhibited in galleries and museums in this country and abroad. His critically acclaimed Book of Alternative Photographic Processes (Delmar, 2001) won the "Golden Light Technical Book of the Year" award. Black-and-White Photography for Young Photographers with Sharon Mier July 9-15 This is Photo Camp for teens! Enthusiastic workshop leader Sharon Mier lends her support and encouragement as you develop your black-and-white photographic skills. Cameras, film, exposure, developing film, printing, portfolios, print presentation, and personal vision are all covered through discussion and hands-on experience. This workshop is for people 13 to 17 years of age who have a basic knowledge of their film camera and a strong desire to improve their photographic skills. A portfolio is not required for admission. The deadline for scholarship applications is approaching quickly.
With the support of Kodak, Nikon, and Corbis and the generosity
of individual donors, the Santa Fe Workshops is offering nearly
$10,000 in scholarship funding for deserving photographers of
all levels. All scholarship applications, for
workshops offered between June and December 2006, must be received
by Friday, April 21. Details and application guidelines
