Juror: Sean Kernan
Sean Kernan is a photographer, writer, and teacher who came to photography from theater. He is the author of two monographs, The Secret Books (with Jorge Luis Borges) and Among Trees, as well as Darrell Petit In Stone.
Sean writes about creativity, the arts and commerce, with articles in Communication Arts, Graphis, and Lenswork, among others. His photos have been published in numerous publications around the world including The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian, New York, Harpers, Polyrama (Switzerland) and Photo World (China). His advertising work includes clients such as AT&T, Amex, GE, Pratt & Whitney, Dow Jones, and Harvard. His exhibitions include Centre Regional de la Photographie, Duchy, France; Biblioteca Alexandrina, Egypt; Photosynkiria, Thessaloniki, Greece; Museo de la Ciudad, Queretaro, Mexico; Wesleyan University, Connecticut; and the Whitney Museum (New York).
He has taught and lectured at the New School/Parsons, Art Center College of Design (Pasadena), Yale Medical School, University of Texas, Wesleyan University, Maine Media Workshops and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops and has won numerous awards, most recently from Center in Santa Fe for teaching and Honorary Doctorate from Art Center College of Design (Pasadena).
